  • Jenkintown's Luke Miller captured the individual win in a time of 16:33.The senior took it out from the gun and held off some hard-chargers for the victory to open up his season.
  • In the team battle on the boys' side, it was a great matchup between a pair of the state's top teams. LaSalle College (PA#4) took home the win with 24 points. Senior Zachary Brill was second to lead the way for the Explorers, running 16:36. His younger brother -- sophomore Drew Brill -- was fourth in 16:40. Ryan McGinley was fifth and Max Manganiello was sixth for LaSalle. 
  • Jenkintown, the state's top-ranked 1A team looked very impressive, taking second to LaSalle with 36 points. Of course, Miller paced the Drakes with his win, but the rest of the team was strong with Carter Geer making a big statement with a third place finish in 16:37. Jenkintown showed the strength and depth is there to make a run at its second 1A state title in three years.
  • In the second race, Jenkintown's Olivia Spoerl was the first girl across, so the 2019 XC Class A state medalist opened up her season with a victory.
