AA Boys 3200m Preview
It's been quite a year for Jenkintown's Luke Miller. After leading his team to the Class A state title in XC, Miller had a busy winter before this spring where he's been on a tear. He'll look to start his day off on Friday with his first individual state gold.
He's the second seed in the AA 3200 meters, but he owns the fastest AA 3200 time of the season at 9:06.76 from that legendary Henderson Invite 3200 from early May. That's 28 seconds faster than the next quickest entry in this field. He cruised to the District 1 title last week, and will shoot for state gold on Friday morning.
Fairview's Michael Grechanyy went 9:34.60 at Butler this season and he enters the meet at AA#2 on the season. he was second in District 10, though D10 champion Gabe Nichols is going after the 1600-800 double and no 3200. Grechanyy will be one to watch in this field.
The top seed is Holy Redeemer's Chris Hine, who blitzed a 9:35.93 to win the District 2 crown this past week. He's looking fit to go after a high finish. The same goes for District 2 runner-up Kevin Jumper of Holy Cross, who took second to Hine in District 2, but clocked a 9:34.95 in New Jersey earlier this season.
District 12 champion Anthony Gargani of Lansdale Catholic, WPIAL champion Patrick Malone of Winchester Thurston, and District 4 champion Logan Strawser of East Juniata are among the others that could get inside the top five in this race.
