Freshmen can provide a catalyst for a team, and provide an instant boost to a program and it's respective success.
Rowan Carr has been the epitome of that notion in the early part of the year. Thus far, he has run 30-seconds faster than any other ninth grader. His 15:50 at the CAL Meet #4 ranks third All-Time amongst recorded freshman marks. The two boys ahead of him, Parker Warkentine (Conestoga) and Justin Landis (North Penn), are sophomores.
Graham Wanck ranks second with his respectable 16:20. He ran that mark at the Oswego Invitational (NY) and finished second overall. Wanck also earned his first career high school victory at the 55th Annual McDaniel-Baxter Cross Country Invitational on September 16th.
Colin McGuigan also lands inside the Top Three. His 16:27 for Parkland at the Northampton Cross Country Invitational helped the team triumph in the team battle. Parkland is currently ranked tenth in the state.
