Boardman Spartan Invitational - Meet Recap

BOYS: The PA#2 North Allegheny boys took to Ohio on Saturday and came away with a second place performance despite the absence of top runner and PA#1 Zach Kinne, who was resting this week. Daniel McGoey went 16:08, the fastest time by a PA runner at the meet, to finish third overall in the D1 race.Only Hudson, arguably Ohio's top boys team, beat the Tigers. Grove City Area's Jonah Powell made his season debut, taking fifth in that D1 race in 16:24

In the D3 race, North East's Josh Lewis claimed his third win in three weeks. Lewis, who already won at McDowell and West Middlesex, added a win across state borders in a time of 16:11, the second fastest PA time of the meet. In the D2 race, Zachary Leachman of Mars Area ran well to take fifth in 16:55.


GIRLS: Gianna Labbiento of Sharon stayed hot winning her third race of the season. The sophomore went 18:54, over 25 seconds ahead of second place in the D2 race. Only Solon (OH)'s Olivia Howell went faster on the day at Boardman.

In the D1 race, the PA#1 North Allegheny girls took third overall. Hannah Lindgren took tenth to lead the Tigers to 148 points, just one point off second place. Strong Ohio squad Hudson took the top spot in the race. Keeley Misutka and Caroline Daggett weren't far behind Lindgren for NA, placing 14th and 15th, respectively.

Haley Hamilton of Our Lady of Sacred Heart also turned in a strong race, taking third in the D3 race in 20:07.
